Little Rock

Little Rock, the state capitol, has the three things you need most: location, location, location. The city is less than a day's drive from many major U.S. cities, such as as Atlanta, Chicago, Louisville, Oklahoma City, Kansas City, Houston, Air Jordan Shoes,Dallas, St. Louis and New Orleans.

The city is in the geographic center of Arkansas, and indeed much of the middle United States. Little Rock is the most populous city in Arkansas with 184,422 residents. The city is home to cutting-edge meeting facilities, remarkable restaurants and natural beauty and outdoor attractions.

Little Rock also is Central Arkansas' hub for business, being home to several corporations like Acxiom and nonprofit organizations such as Heifer International. The city's River Market District is home to a number of unique attractions, including the Clinton Presidential Center and Library.

The French explorer Bernard de LaHarpe in 1772 sailed up the Arkansas River. He stoped when he saw the first rock bluff since leaving the Mississippi River. On the site opposite the river from the rock bluff, he made camp and called the site "La Petite Roche" (the Little Rock).
